Doreen passed away quietly at home October 29, 2002 after a long battle with cancer. She was born in Moose Jaw, Sask. on July 15, 1928 to Edith and Sam Beatty.
She will be sadly missed by her best friend and husband of 55 years, Arnold; sons, Rick (Diane), Tom (Lorenda), and Bob (Barb); three granddaughters, Carlene (Paul) Russell, Julie and Jamie; three grandsons, Luke, Ben, and Mitch; her sister Barb (Bud) Ellingson and their children.
Doreen was an ardent golfer starting in Regina and played at various courses across the country, ending up the last nine years at Meadowlands Golf and Country Club, and has been Vice Captain and Captain of the Ladies Section.
There will be no service by request, but the family invites friends and neighbours to Celebrate Doreen’s Life with them at Beacon Downs Clubhouse, 8533 Broadway St., Chilliwack on Saturday, Nov. 9, 2002 from 2-5 p.m.
Friends wishing to remember Doreen may do so with a donation to the Canadian Cancer Society, or the charity of their choice.
