Douglas Gardiner Johnston passed away on Saturday, February 20th, 2010 in Chilliwack, BC at the age of 81 years. He was born on August 6th, 1928 in Vancouver.
Doug is survived by his wife of 60 years Dorothy, children Sherri (Brian) Cotterell, Kathi (Joe) Troncoso and Bill (Nancy) Johnston, grandchildren Ryan and Rachel Giesbrecht, Mark and Matthew Worrall, Christina and Melissa Johnston, Sara Campbell, and 2 great-granddaughters Caitlyn and Lauren.
He was predeceased by his parents Margaret and Will Johnston, his brother Jim Johnston and son-in-law Roger Giesbrecht.
Doug was a member of the Cultus Lake OAPO, past member of the Chilliwack Harmony Chorus and Chilliwack Lawn Bowling Association.
The family would like to thank the staff at Valleyhaven for their loving care over the past 6 months.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, February 27th, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. from the Chapel at Henderson’s Funeral Home, 45901 Victoria Avenue, Chilliwack.
