Douglas Ernest Paterson Bishop passed away on Saturday, January 26, 2008 at the Bradley Centre in the Chilliwack Hospital at age 88 years. He was born on December 27, 1919 in Winnipeg, MB.
Doug is survived by his wife of 62 years, Lori; his sons: Larry Bishop (Sharon) and Don Bishop (Julie); and his daughter: Linda Mauch.
He also leaved behind sisters Margaret (Don) Wilson, and Dorothy (Dave) Waddell.
Doug had nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren, to date.
He was predeceased by his younger brother Innes and sister-in-law, Betty Bishop.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, February 2, 2008 at 1:30 p.m. at Woodlawn Mt. Cheam Funeral Home. Memorial donations may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation of B.C. in lieu of flowers.
Doug worked for the T. Eaton Co. for 35 years moving from Vancouver to Toronto and many places in between, including right here. He spent his last 10 years with the company as manager for the Winnipeg, Polo Park store.
He loved fishing and golfing, so he decided to settle in the Chilliwack area after his retirement in 1985.
Doug was a great friend, neighbour, worker, father and husband, and will be sadly missed.
The tide recedes, but leaves behind
