Dorothy Evangeline AMOS

Dorothy Amos passed away peacefully into the presence of her Lord on November 21st, 2005 at Bradley Centre, Chilliwack, B.C.

She is survived by her loving husband of 60 years, Jim; son Rowland (Ruth); three grandchildren; Emily, Jamie (Loni) and Marie, and several nieces and nephews.

Born the second of five children in Truro, N.S. Dorothy moved to Toronto to train as a Salvation Army Officer in 1941. After commissioning (ordination), Dorothy was posted to Bermuda and later to Saskatchewan. She married in 1945 and along with Jim they served as Salvation Army Officers in Ontario, Quebec, New Brunswick, Saskatchewan and B.C. They retired from Vancouver in 1982 and moved to Chilliwack to be near their son and his family.

Dorothy will be remembered as a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She had a passion for her Saviour and those in need. She was always ready and willing to lend a helping hand.

Dorothy loved traveling, fancy work, reading, cooking and Bible Study.

A celebration of Dorothy’s life was held at the Salvation Army Community Church, Chilliwack, on November 24, 2005.
