Doreen Farrell passed away on Monday, July 28, 2008 at the Chilliwack General Hospital at age 80 years. She was born May 18, 1928 in Loughborough, England, daughter of Alfred Ronald King and Nellie (King) Coleman.

Doreen is survived by her daughter Elaine Weeks and Curtis; sons: Bryce Farrell and Frances, Bevan Farrell and Ann; five grandchildren: Andrew Weeks, and Allen Weeks, and Maja, Blaine and Blair Farrell and Jasmine Farrell; step-grandson: Tynann Tattersall, Greg Catto; and step-granddaughter Cheryl Schell, great-granddaughter: Victoria Weeks; and great-grandson: Deter Nowack; sister Pat Stanley, and Russell; nieces and nephews, and sister-in-law and brothers-in-law.

She was predeceased by her husband William O. Farrell; brother Kenneth King; and granddaughter Cherie Lynn Farrell.

Upon immigrating to Canada, Doreen was a seamstress at the Circle Bar Knitting Mill in Kincardine, Ontario until her marriage to Bill. They worked on their dairy farm in Kincardine until their retirement in 1977.

Doreen and Bill moved to the West Coast and finally settled in Chilliwack, B.C. Doreen loved to play bingo and enjoyed her daily walks. The love for her family was mom’s greatest gift to us.

A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, August 2, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. from Henderson’s Funeral Home, 45901 Victoria Avenue, Chilliwack, B.C. V2P 2S9.

Burial will take place on Saturday, August 2, 2008 at Vedderview Gardens Cemetery, 44675 Watson Road, Chilliwack. Pall Bearers are Bryce Farrell, Blaine and Blair Farrell, Andrew and Allen Weeks, and Tynann Tattersall.

Memorial Donations may be made to the Chilliwack General Hospital.
