Donald V.E. (M.I.D.) ARCHIBALD

Donald Archibald passed away peacefully on June 23, 2004 surrounded by his immediate family. Don was born in Calgary, Alta. on October 20, 1921. He has resided in Chilliwack since 1970 and, previous to that, in Vancouver.

He served with the Seaforth Highlanders of Canada in the Mediterranean theatre during World War II. He participated in the famous battle of Ortona where he was wounded. He continued to serve for a further 2 years until the end of the war.

Don was Worshipful Master of Masonic Lodge # 162, Vancouver and also a member of the United Empire Loyalists.

He will be sadly missed by his loving wife of 57 years, Agnes, son, John (Shirley), four grandchildren, Donald (Sal), David (Jennie), Sheryl and Dennis (Anik), great grandchildren, Lanaia, Jordan, Benjamin, two step-grandchildren, Brennan and McCall, and sister, Alisen Barkley.

He was predeceased by his daughter, Elizabeth on September 24, 2003.
