Born September 22, 1919 in Dorking England, it is with much love and sadness that we said goodbye to Don on August 20, 2009 just short of his 90th birthday.

Don fought a courageous 6 month battle with cancer and will forever be loved and cherished by his beloved wife of 61 years, Doreen; son Dennis (Leslie); grandchildren Tracy, Daryn and Tod; as well as great-grandchildren Angela, Robert and Faith.

Donald was a “Flying Officer” and war hero in WWII, stationed in Tholthorpe in Yorkshire, England with the R.C.A.F Squadron #420. There Donald earned the “Distinguished Flying Medal” The Citation read as follows: “This Officer has completed numerous operations against the enemy in the course of which he has invariably displayed the utmost fortitude, courage, and devotion to duty.”

Following his service he returned to the Canadian National Railway and retired from his executive position in 1984 after 44 years of service.

His memory shall live on in the hearts and minds of his many friends, golfing buddies and his family. A Graveside urn interment will take place on Friday September 4, 2009 at 2:30 pm at the Chilliwack Cemetery Inc. 10010 Hillcrest Drive.

Should friends desire, donations in memory of Donald may be made to a charity of your choice.
