Donald Allan (Chet) henderson

Donald Henderson was born November 11, 1936 and died April 19, 2006 with his devoted wife, Joyce, at his side.

Predeceased by his parents, Michael and Margaret Henderson; brother, Joe; sister, Margaret. Survived by sisters, Jean (Findley), Florence (Bob), and brother John (Shirley). Chet leaves behind his loving wife Joyce; daughter Donna (Bob) Legace; sons, Brad (Darcy), Russ (Lorele) and Wes (Tanya) and 11 grandchildren as well as his second family Jeri-Lynne (Harry) Hendley, Tammy (Craig) Antrobus; Lorne (Glenna) Davidson and Stuart (Debby) Davidson; 11 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.

Chet began life in Whitemouth, Manitoba. He moved with his family to Columbia Valley in 1945. He eventually took over the family dairy farm and was active in farming most of his life. Chet spent time working “in the woods” in the logging industry and came to operate Henderson Mill for a number of years. He gave up his farming activities after beginning a losing battle with Alzheimer’s disease.

Chet will be remembered for his love of children, farming, and hockey night in Canada.

No funeral by request. A private family celebration of life will be held. If friends so desire, donations can be made to BC Children’s Hospital.
