Diane Clara Welch silently slipped away Dec. 24th, 2008 at her home in Williams Lake, BC. Diane had been a Chilliwack resident for over 50 years when she moved to Williams Lake to be closer to family. Diane is predeceased by husband Roy [1975]; son Dennis [1983].
Diane was born June 14, 1926 in Yeper, Belgium. She came to Canada Nov. 1946 as a Belgian War Bride.
1952 Mom worked at Fraser Valley Frosted Foods, 1953 saw Mom working for Mr. & Mrs. Guardhouse at the Pop-Inn cafe in Vedder. Mom worked at the Officers Mess, CFB Chilliwack from 1956 to 1972. Mom also worked at York Farms; Woolworth’s; Sears; Henry’s Meat Market and Royal Welcome.
Diane is survived by son’s Reg (Quesnel, BC), Gerry (Abbotsford, BC); daughter & son-in-law Rob & Lyn Lewis (Williams Lake, BC), 9 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life service for Diane will be held on Saturday, March 21 from 1 to 3 pm at the Anavets, 46268 Yale Rd. in Chilliwack.
