Derek passed away on Saturday, January 5, 2008 at Chilliwack General Hospital, age 82. He was born on January 5, 1926 in Melton Mowbray, England.
Derek is survived by his wife Betty, daughter Laura Knoke (Rick), son David (Maggi), granddaughter Jennifer, grandson Jeremy, and sister-in-law Shirley King.
He was predeceased by his parents George and Ruby King, and brothers John and Hubert King.
A Memorial Service will be held Friday, January 11th 2008 at 2:30 p.m. from Woodlawn Mt. Cheam Funeral Home – 45865 Hocking Avenue, Chilliwack, BC (across from the Y.M.C.A.).
Memorial donations may be made to the Chilliwack Animal Safe Haven – 49843 Chilliwack Central Road, Rosedale, BC, V0X 1X0 or a charity of your choice.
Derek retired from Dairyland in 1987 after 37 years of employment with them.
Derek enjoyed travelling and sailing.
