Survived by his wife Carol Bell and his son Shane Walkem. Parent also to Andrew Cerniuk and Christopher England. Sisters, Grace Stetson (Harold), Joyce Rosseau (Bob), Fay Scappatura (Tom), brothers William(Cindy) and Ronald (Denise). Stepsiblings George Hunter (Evelyn) and Mary Hill (Pete).Â
Also left with his influence are an extended family and a lifetime of friends.

Predeceased also by brother, Joseph.
David was a ferociously strong man who was also unendingly tenderhearted. He was dedicated to his loved ones, his gardens and his work. He never made a promise he didn’t keep. He spoke his mind with no hesitation and expected the same of others. He brightened our lives with his savvy and his brilliant wit.
Our thanks to Dr. Leyen and the wonderful home nursing staff who helped fulfill Dave’s wish to be at home for the final stages of his journey.
Heartfelt thanks also to his workmates at Envision Credit Union, special friends Doris Haynes, Kelvan Dickson, Cec Adams and Carl Dejager, as well as sisters-in-law Julie Bell and Laurie Harron for their many kind deeds during his trek.
There will be no formal service, Dave was not fond of stuffy events. Please join us for a party Sunday afternoon, October 22nd at 42702 Regal Avenue in Yarrow. Those who would like are asked to bring an item that reminds them of Dave so we can share some laughs and memories.
