David Elmer BRANDT

June 30, 2009

David passed peacefully into the presence of his Lord on Tuesday, June 30 at The Waverly of Chilliwack where he had lived for the past 6-1/2 years. Born November 1, 1907, in Bruce, Alberta to Swedish immigrant parents, his career years were spent in police work, 5 years with the RCMP and 35 years with the CPR.

Predeceased by his wife of 49 years, Madge, as well as two brothers and three sisters; Dave is survived by three children, Judith (Earle) Davies, Gail (Ron) Manning, David (Sylvia) Brandt; six grandchildren, Lance (Eliza) Davies, Eric (Catherine) Davies, Greg (Rachel) Manning, Heather (Roger) Goertzen, Steve (Charlene) Brandt, Rob Brandt; five great-grandchildren, Brandt, Bryce, and Luke Davies, Allie and TJ Manning; and many nieces and nephews.

We are grateful for Dad’s Godly influence and example. He was a thoughtful, compassionate man who will be deeply missed but we celebrate the fact that Dad has now realized his lifelong hope of seeing Jesus face to face.

Special thanks to Dr. Markey and the staff at The Waverly for their kind, loving and consistently good care of Dad.

Family graveside service at Victory Memorial Park.
