We, the family of our beloved Colleen are deeply saddened by her death in the early morning of December 14, 2009 in Abbotsford, BC. She was born on July 12, 1947 to parents Ethel and Leonard Kobus, who predeceased her.
Colleen passed away peacefully after a too short struggle with colon cancer.
Even though she knew she wouldn’t win, she fought her sickness and enjoyed life with her family and many friends until the end. All of Colleen’s life was informed by her quiet, thoughtful, and determined commitment to do the right thing. Colleen is survived by her husband Jeremy, her daughters, Kimberly and Jessica (Nimish), her brother Kevin (Susan), her sister Karen (Pieter), and a large extended family. We all love her and miss her deeply.
Our thanks to her many friends, the staff of the BC Cancer Agency, the Lions Gate Hospital Cancer Clinic, and the Abbotsford Regional Hospital for their loving and never-ending support. A celebration of Colleen’s life will be held on Wednesday December 30, 2009 at 2 pm, in the Ramada Conference Centre, 36035 North Parallel Road, Abbotsford (Hwy-1, Exit 95 at Whatcom Road). In lieu of flowers, contributions in Colleen’s name may be made to the Stephen Lewis Foundation.v
