Colin Michael SHARPE

June 21, 2004

Colin Michael Sharpe passed away suddenly on Monday, June 21, 2004.

He is survived by his loving wife, Andrea, parents Milton and Brenda Sharpe, brothers Andrew, Brian (Lea), and Darren (Janelle) Sharpe, sister Heather (Dylan) Cuff, nieces and nephews Steven, Jaguar, Blake, McCartney, Breanne, and Ryan Sharpe, and Caedan and Alyssa Cuff, and father-in-law and mother-in-law Les and Teresa, sister-in-law Selina and brother-in-law Bobby Greenhalgh.

Colin was born in Chilliwack in 1976, and completed his B.A. in Jazz Studies at Capilano College and B. Ed. at U.B.C. He was the consummate teacher, who believed in leading by example. He taught at New Westminster Secondary School and loved music, teaching, and most particularly, his students, who will always remember him as “C#”.

Colin loved his family and was the most wonderful son, husband, brother, uncle, and nephew in the world. You could always count on Colin to be there during a crisis, a move, a remodeling project, or a party.

It was always about the music with Colin. Then, in later years, it was about the music, his family, and Andrea. He was a loving, gentle man who touched the lives of everyone he met.

A service in celebration of Colin’s life will be held at Henderson’s Funeral Home, 45901 Victoria Ave., Chilliwack, B.C. at 10 a.m. on Saturday, June 26, 2004. Viewing will be on Friday, June 25, 2004 from 7:30-9 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, donations would be appreciated for a music scholarship in Colin’s name, c/o Kelly Boechler, Music Department, New Westminster Secondary School, 835 Eighth Street, New Westminster, B.C. V3M 3S9.
