Christine Strobel passed away on October 14, 2006 at Valley Haven Guest Home at the age of 102 after a short illness. She was born April 25, 1904 in Borodino, Bessarabien. She married Edward Strobel November 15, 1923. Together they raised 6 children and were married for 60 years. Christine, Edward and daughter Irma immigrated to Canada in 1963 where their son Otto was already living in Chilliwack. She was predeceased by her husband in 1984, son Gottleb in 1976 and son Hans in 2001. She is survivied by her daughters Lyda Bidlingmaier and family, Ella Kugler and family, Trudel Strobel (daughter-in-law) and family, Ruth Strobel (daughter-in-law) and family all in Germany. In Canada Irma & Hugo Schmidt and family of Chilliwack, BC, son Otto & Lavonne Strobel and their family of Penticton, BC. Christine leaves behind many grandchildren, great grandchildren and one great, great grandchild. She loved to garden and crochet. We thank the Lord that our mother had such a long and healthy life and want to thank the wonderful staff at Valley Haven for looking after her for the last six years. Funeral service will be held October 19, 2006 at the Christ Lutheran Church on 9460 Charles Street, at 1:00 pm.
