‘Ike’
Ike was born in Chilliwack, BC on November 15th, 1931, the middle child in a family of five. Ike lived all his life in the Sumas Prairie/Chilliwack area; the last 43 years spent in his Sardis home.
After a career in the forestry industry, Ike enjoyed a retirement, made up of fishing, boating, and reading. Ike particularly enjoyed travelling, both at home and abroad. He took many a road trip with his wife Mary. While on a tour of BC/Alberta, Ike took ill in Rocky Mountain House, Alberta. With his wife and children at his side, Ike peacefully passed away on August 28th, 2010.
Ike is survived by his wife of 54 years, Mary, his daughter Charlene, his son Stephen, and his youngest sister Judy Short. Ike is also survived by many nieces, nephews and great-nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Monday, September 6th, 2010 from 7:30-8:30 p.m. at Henderson’s Funeral Home.
A Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, Sept. 7th, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. at Henderson’s Funeral Home Chapel. Burial to be held at the Chilliwack Cemeteries. If friends so desire, donations may be made to a Charity of your choice.
