Carl FRANK

Carl Frank of Penticton, formerly of Osoyoos and Chilliwack, loving husband and father, passed away peacefully in the arms of his wife on Aug. 3, 2004 at the age of 77 years.

Funeral services were held on Friday, Aug. 6 , 2004 from the Osoyoos Seventh-Day Adventist Church at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Peter Ford officiating.

He will be lovingly remembered by his devoted wife, Inge; four children: Alex, Robert, Mark and Carla, as well as his seven grandchildren.

Carl was born in Grossliebentahl, Russia on July 10, 1927. During troubled times in Russia, his family fled to Germany. Following the Second World War, Carl, along with his mother and two sisters, immigrated to Canada.

Arriving in Canada, Carl found his way to Edmonton where he met his beautiful bride Inge, and they were married June 2, 1956.

An entrepreneur at heart, Carl began OK Floors in Edmonton until 1961 where he entered into the hospitality industry.

Carl owned and operated hotels in Red Water, Sylvan Lake, and Red Deer, Alberta. He then moved to Chilliwack to operate the Empress Hotel.

Retiring at the age of 53, Carl spent his last years in the Okanagan Valley and most recently moving to Penticton.

He fought a long and courageous battle and the family request any donations be made to the Cancer Society.
