Burton Lloyd STINTON

Passed away peacefully with his family by his side in Chilliwack General Hospital on Sunday, July 17, 2005 at 78 years of age.

Burt was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba, the son of Fred and Emily Stinton.

He was predeceased by his sister Veronica.

He is survived by his wife Laura, of 57 years; daughter, Barbara (Dan), Henry and his sister Velma Kinack of Winnipeg.

He was a loving husband and father.

Burt served in the Canadian Army during WWII. After the war he enrolled in the Royal

Canadian Navy and served for 25 years. On retiring from the Navy, he worked as Administrative Services Manager for the Manitoba Wheat Pool.

Laura and he moved to Chilliwack in 1999. Those who knew Burt will remember that he was an avid football fan as well as player and coach, and a loyal supporter of the CFL throughout his life.

A Graveside Service was held at Vedder View Gardens Cemetery on Thursday, July 21, 2005. Rev. Fred Tassinari officiating.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to your local SPCA in Burt’s name.
