Bruce Thomas DAVIS

September 5, 2012

April 4, 1927 - Sept 5, 2012

It is with sad hearts that we inform you of the passing of Bruce Davis, who died peacefully in his sleep after a long life of adventures and love.

Beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend, he will be missed by us all.

Bruce was predeceased by his first wife, Theresa, and second wife, Margaret, his son Jacques, and daughters Monique and Mavis.

He is survived by his children and step-children; Thomas (Patricia), Kenneth (Jeannie), Jacqueline, Maurice, Patrick (Cara), Monique’s husband Doug, Shelley, Joy, and Mavis’s husband Vern, as well as a sister, Ruby and brother-in-law Maurice. He is also survived by grandchildren and great-grandchildren, too numerous to mention by name.

Bruce was a Korean war veteran and worked for Agriculture Canada (Alberta) for decades before his retirement. He had an active interest in the world around him, attending Elder College in Chilliwack in his later years, responding to editorials in the local newspapers, and writing/publishing his memoirs.

His short stories about his life were published in a

variety of magazines. His keen wit, sense of fun and emails will be missed by all those he “spammed”.

At Bruce’s request, there will not be a funeral. A Celebration of Life will be held at the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch #4, 9350 Mary St., Chilliwack (downstairs), September 30, 2012, 1-4 pm.

He will be interred in both Calgary and Chilliwack. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Canadian Hard of Hearing Association, Chilliwack Branch, the Heart and Stroke Foundation, BC and Yukon, the Myasthenia Gravis Association of BC, or the charity of your choice.

Rest in peace Dadoo.
