They enjoyed 25 years of winter months in Palm Springs, California. They did a lot of travelling, seeing the world, in Europe, South America, USA, Mexico, the South Pacific, and Caribbean cruises.

She always had the grand–children’s favourite cookies on hand, and it continued to the great –grandchildrens’ delight.

Retirement followed in 1980, and in 1983 she recovered from cancer. She suffered her first heart attack in 1984 with other heart attacks to follow.

They moved in 2003 from their home in Sardis, where the neighbourhood children knew them as Oma and Opa, to Lynnwood Retirement Residence.
