Beota Chabot, late of Chilliwack and formerly of Alberta, passed away April 11, 2003 in Chilliwack at the age of 90 years. She was born April 18, 1912 in Rosenheim, Alta. and lived in this area for 57 years (since 1946).
Beota was a registered nurse (retired), and for 32 years worked at the Chilliwack General Hospital. She was involved with the Chilliwack Senior Recreation Centre, loved cards, bridge and canasta in particular, music, sports, dancing, lawn bowling and swimming. She was formerly very active in CWL (Catholic Women’s League), Chilliwack Hospital Auxiliary and the B.C. Registered Nurses Association and held a variety of executive positions. She was great at fundraising.
Beota is survived by two daughters, Mona Nelson and Irene Hrusovsky; three grandsons, Joseph Kolbus, Liam Gray, and Michael Gray; one granddaughter Renata Kolbus; and one great-granddaughter Victoria Lubenow.
She was predeceased by her husband Joseph Chabot who died in 1971.
Visitation will be on Tuesday, Apr. 15, 2003 between 7-8 p.m. at Henderson’s Funeral Home. Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, Apr. 16, 2003 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church with Father Gary Gordon the Celebrant. Interment will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery.
