Bea (Beatrice Anne) PHILLIPS

Bea was born in Trail on January 15, 1936 and passed away at home on October 8, 2003.

After graduating high school, she trained at St. Paul’s Hospital in Vancouver, along with her twin sister Kay, graduating with her nursing degree in February 1958. In June of the same year, she married Bud Phillips, a member of the RCAF. They had three sons, and through the military, travelled all across Canada, and spent three years in Germany.

Once Bud retired in 1973, the family travelled to New Zealand, living close to her twin sister and family for six years before returning to Canada. Bea then returned to her nursing career, working for the Correctional Service of Canada for 18 years before retiring in 1997.

She is survived by her husband Bud Phillips; her three sons, Randy (Monica) Phillips in Alberta, Ricky in New Zealand, and Steven (Angie) Phillips; six grandchildren, Felisha and Joshua in Chilliwack, Amanda, Alicia and Emma in New Zealand, and Andrew in Drumheller, Alta.; her mother Mabel Ramsden in Chilliwack; her twin sister Kay (Raymond) Davis in Australia; and her sister Diane Fletcher in Kelowna.
