Audrey Mavis Hohn

It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Audrey Mavis Hohn (McLean) on August 4, 2017 at the age of 94 with family at her side. Audrey was born in London, England in 1923 and served in the Royal Air Force during World War II. She came to Canada in 1951 to start a new life with husband Jim McLean. Jim passed away in 1980 and in 1985 she married David Hohn. Audrey was a proud homemaker and loved her family, her artwork, animals, music, theatre, knitting, gardening, cooking and travel. Audrey was a volunteer for the Salvation Army in Chilliwack, including The League of Mercy and the kettles. Audrey and friend Edith were the first to serve soup for the Soup Kitchen in Chilliwack. She belonged to Home League and Time Out for many years. Audrey will be missed very much and will be remembered as a fun, energetic, caring, gentle, supportive, loving mother and grandmother. Audrey is survived by daughters Mavis (Richard), Arlene, Linda-Lee and Valerie; many grandchildren and great grandchildren; and relatives in England and Wales. Audrey is predeceased by her parents; brothers and sisters; husbands Jim McLean and David Hohn; and great grandchild Imogen. At Audrey’s request there will not be a service. Donations to the Salvation Army would be greatly appreciated in Audrey’s memory.
