Born in 1906 in Harrison Mills, B.C., Aubrey James Blanchard died July 14, 2003 in Chilliwack.
Aubrey was predeceased by his parents, Henry and Margaret Blanchard, sisters Ina Blanchard and Esperance Hudson, brother Douglas, son-in-law William Siems and grandson Michael Siems.
He is survived by his wife of 73 years Agnes, daughters Jean (Allen) Erickson and Doreen Siems, grandchildren Janis (Monty) Bolstad, Diane (Richard) Paez, Marsha (Phillip) Erickson Ramirez, Carol (Paul) Codd, Suzann (Dennis) Schonberger, Tom (Cathy) Siems and Chris Siems and 12 great-grandchildren as well as several nieces, nephews and honorary family members.
Aubrey followed his father into a career with the CPR, being stationed in Huntingdon, Vernon, Mission and Kelowna, before retiring to Chilliwack in 1972 to be near his family. He spent many years as a trainer and judge at retriever dog trials and enjoyed fishing and hunting.
Aubrey is to be cremated with a memorial service to be held at a later date.
