Anthony Christopher lewis

Anthony Christopher Lewis, aged 59 years, died in ICU Chilliwack Hospital on Tuesday September 11th, 2007 following a brief but devastating and debilitating illness, which he bore with dignity and valour. Anthony was born on December 16th, 1947.

Anthony (Tony) is survived by his wife of 25 years, Anthea Margaret (nee Skilton) Lewis (Agassiz, B.C.), who had the privilege of sharing their grief journey which began in 1986 and walking beside him during the awful journey which began on July 19th, 2007. His family in England: sisters: Susan (Brian) Latham; Angela (Adrian) Grocott; Jane (Colin) Mace and his nephews and nieces: Caroline (Goddaughter), Karen and Alison Latham; Richard (Godson); Christina and Edward Grocott; Katie, Hannah, Joseph and David Mace; and his great-nephew, Joshua Charles Knight, who was born August 22nd, 2007. Several cousins including John (Melanie) Lewis (Essex, England) and many other relatives. His best friend, Robert Green (Witham, Essex, England.) Also his furry friends: his special buddy, Tait, and Shayla (Agassiz, B.C.)

Anthony was predeceased by his precious son, Dominic Jerome Lewis (February 14th, 1986 - Prince Rupert, B.C.); his beloved parents; Charles and Babs Lewis (Essex, England); several cousins including, most recently, Pat Westenhofer, (Essex, England) who died following a 25-year courageous battle with breast cancer, and Albert Reeve (Kent, England). Tony’s special furry friend, Suki (at home on January 14th, 2007 - Agassiz, B.C).

Funeral Liturgy at St. Anthony of Padua Roman Catholic Church, 7237 Morrow Road, Agassiz, B.C. Prayer Vigil: Wednesday September 26th, 2007 at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Mass: Thursday September 27th, 2007 at 10:00 a.m. Presider: The Reverend Dennis O. Flores. Burial following will take place in Agassiz. Reception in St. Anthony’s Church Hall

Beginning August 1st, 2007, Tony was driven three times a week from Agassiz to The Royal Columbian Hospital Renal Unit, courtesy of friends, neighbours, church brothers and sisters, LIONS, Red Hatters, and others unknown to Tony and Anthea. Memorial donations may be made to Account #2605855 at the Agassiz Branch Account of the Prospera Credit Union (1810 #9 Highway, P.O. Box 431, Agassiz, B.C. VOM 1AO) Donations received will be contributed towards setting up and/or running a local bus to take people to medical appointments.
