Anne DICK

June 12, 1929 – June 12, 2010

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our mother, grandmother, great grandmother and sister on June 12, 2010 at Chilliwack General Hospital. She passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family.

Anne was a very independent lady who worked very hard her entire life, but the most important thing to her was her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She loved the outdoors, often taking her young grandkids on fishing adventures to the river, going on trips all over the Fraser Valley with her friends, or hopping on a bus to Saskatchewan to visit her brother and sisters. During her retirement years, she joined line dancing, Tai Chi classes and the Better Breathers Club, sewed and knitted for herself and her family, attended her grandchildren’s sporting and school events and spent many enjoyable hours reading.

Anne was born on the family farm outside of Swift Current, Saskatchewan. She was predeceased by her mother and father, Helena and Henry Dyck; brother, Henry; sister, Helen; her son, Orville and her granddaughter, Barbara. She is survived by her daughters; Sharon (Bill), Shirley, Betty (Rob) and Debbie(Ken); her grandchildren, Kevin Champ, Jeff Champ, Samantha MacDonald, Andrea Rafuse, David Rafuse, Lindsay Britton and Christopher Liberty and her three great grandchildren, Autumn, Parker and Alexander MacDonald. She is also survived by her brother. Lawrence (Phyllis) Dyck and her six sisters, Mary (Allan) Krause, Eva (Hank) Dyck, Marg Kitsch, Anges (Jim) LaDouceur, Eileen Adams and Marlene Dyck and many nieces and nephews.

A memorial service for family and friends celebrating Anne’s life will be held on Saturday, June 26, 2010 at 11:00 am at Woodlawn Mt. Cheam Funeral Home 45865 Hocking Ave. Chilliwack, BC. In lieu of flowers, friends may wish to donate to the Alzheimer Society of BC 300 – 828 West 8th Avenue Vancouver, B.C. V5Z 1E2
