After battling cancer, Ann passed away peacefully at age 78 at Surrey Memorial Hospital. Ann was born on June 18, 1931 in London, England. She trained in nursing and midwifery at Lambeth hospital. In 1955, she moved to Toronto to work at the Toronto Western hospital, settling there in 1957. She was part of a team that pioneered some of the first successful heart and lung operations. In 1960 she married Leslie Raymond Fiddick and settled in Etobicoke, in 1963. After having two children she continued her nursing career at the Lockwood Clinic and the Queensway hospital. In 1992, she and Les settled in Chilliwack. She did a variety of volunteer work including church, school and healthcare.

She will be missed by her husband of 49 years, Leslie, her children, Catharine and John, Danielle McGillis, and granddaughter Jessica. She enjoyed gardening, classical and jazz music, literature and history. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
