It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Alydis Oosterman on Wednesday, May 28, 2008 after a long and courageous battle with Alzheimer’s, at the age of 75 years. Lyda was born AAltje Kroon in Apeldoorn, Holland on November 13, 1932.

She met and married John Oosterman in Holland where they lived until their move to Canada the following year. Lyda worked as an LPN at St. Vincent hospital in Vancouver until 1967, and at the maternity ward in Burnaby General Hospital retiring in 1989.

They moved to Chilliwack in 1992 to be closer to family.

Lyda is remembered throughout her life for her passion for cleanliness, often referred to as “Tante Lyda Clean”.

Predeceased by her mother and father Geertje Kroon and Lambert Kroon.

Lyda is survived by her husband of 53 years, John; and her only daughter Yolanda (Chris) Lindal; grandson, Tyler Lindal; granddaughter, Jenna Lindal; and one brother, Wim.

There will be no service by her request.
