Alphonse Matthew Wanner, late of Chilliwack, passed away peacefully at Cascade Lodge Care Home on Saturday September 9, 2006, at the age of 84. He was born on March 23, 1922 in Oungre, Saskatchewan. In 1968 he moved with his wife and family to Chilliwack, where he was employed by T. H. Construction firm and in later years by the Chilliwack School District as custodian.
Mr. Wanner is survived by his wife of 57 years, six sons; James, Harvey, David, Robert, Christopher, Stephen and one daughter Susan. He also leaves behind eleven grand children and 2 great grand daughters. Alphonse was predeceased by his son Gordon, his mother, father and four brothers.
Funeral mass will be held Friday September 15, 2006 at 10:00 am at St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church, 8909 Mary St., Chilliwack, officiated by Father Justin. Evening prayer service will be at 7:00 pm Thursday. Interment at St Mary’s cemetery on Promontory Rd., Chilliwack.
