(Nov. 4, 1921 – Feb. 20, 2008)

Alf passed away peacefully on Wednesday morning in the Intensive Care Unit of Chilliwack General Hospital.

He is survived by sons: Chris and Fred (Carolyn); grandchildren: Sam, Maddison and Austin; niece, Marie (Ed); and nephew, Norman (Helen).

Alf was predeceased by his wife Dorothy; son Bill; and brothers Bill and Roy.

Alf was born in Kellogg, Idaho, and moved to Canada in 1924 with his family where they owned and operated Shannon Farm Dairies in the Marpole district of Vancouver.

In 1932, Alfred’s family moved to Reeves Road in Chilliwack.

Alf joined the Royal Canadian Navy and served overseas in WWII. Upon returning, Alfred met Dorothy Finlay and they were married on September 10, 1948.

Over the years, Alf most enjoyed camping with his family; his most treasured memories came from summers spent with his family at Bosk Lake in the Cariboo.

Alf will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

According to Alf’s wishes, no service will be held. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to a charity of choice.
