Albert Stewart COLLETT

Albert Stewart Collett born May 2, 1919 in Indian Head, Sask., died July 22, 2002 in Chilliwack General Hospital. Al joined the permanent Army Force in 1936 at the age of 17. When the Second World War broke out in 1939 he joined the RCASC. He was stationed at different Air Force stations and in 1944 he met his wife Dorothy Jacobsen and they were married at Yorkton Air Force Base.


After the Second World War Al was stationed in Germany. When the Dyke broke in Holland he went there to help. He retired in 1972 in Chilliwack. Al also worked at the army base in Chilliwack for a few years.


He was predeceased by his wife Dorothy May 18, 2001; his brothers, Ken and Don; and sisters, Kay, Christine, and Mary.


Surviving is his sister Hazel (Leo) Strauss; nieces, Cathy, Sharon, and Camille (Hank) Derksen; nephews, Wayne and David; and other nieces and nephews on Dorothy’s side; also his adopted family Doc and Elsie, and their daughters, Leanne and Angela Kinney.
