(‘Eddie’)

June 12, 1917 – Nov. 13, 2010

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Adam at the Chilliwack Hospital after a short illness with lung cancer at the age of 93.

He is survived by his sons Neil (Linda) and Scott (Diane), grandchildren Kristina (Derek), Lance (Felicia), Melissa (Adam), great-grandchildren Jessica and Hailey, and beloved friend Marjorie Thompson.

Adam was predeceased by his first wife Marjorie and second wife Isobel; two brothers, Tom and McCall.

Adam was a veteran and served in the Army in WWII. After the passing of his first wife, Marjorie in 1976, he moved from Ontario to Victoria. There he met his second wife, Isobel, at “Silver Threads” where he volunteered. He married her in 1981 and gained four daughters. They were his pride and joy. Isobel passed away in 2007. He then decided to move to Crystal Ridge Manor in Chilliwack to be closer to his family. He volunteered for 33 years with many organizations such as Meals on Wheels, CNIB, Silver Threads, Gorge Hospital library, Salvation Army and more recently, before he took ill, at Mother Theresa Thrift shop. He received many citations and awards for the many, many hours of volunteer work and was very proud of it.

He touched the lives of many people with his smiles and gentle nature, and maintained his trademark of independence and sense of humour with his many corny jokes. He will definitely be missed by all.

No service by request. He will be cremated. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.

The family of Adam wishes to extend sincere thanks to Dr. Phillip Weatherston, nurses of NU3, and especially the wonderful staff of Crystal Ridge manor for the extra special care he was given.
