Abraham Sawatzky was born in Russia in 1919 and lived in the Greendale and Chilliwack area.
He was a hard worker all his life as a logger and farmer. He was loved by his wife,three kids and grandchildren. He had a big heart for animals and enjoyed talking and joking with relatives and friends.
He is survived by his daughter, Diane (Roland); sons: Don & Darrell (Pauline) and grandsons: Brent (Meghan), Lance, Steven, Brian, Kevin; much loved cat “Kitty”; sisters: Mary McCormack; Sue (Peter) Enns; Freida Starr; brothers, Aaron (Tillie) Sawatzky; Dean Sawatzky; many nieces, nephews and lots of great friends.
He was predeceased by his loving wife, Clara, (1994), sisters: Ann, Nettie, Helene and brother, Jack.
A Memorial Tea will be held on Monday, January 30, 2006 at 1:00 p.m. in Henderson’s Tea Room.
The family extends deepest thanks to the Crystal Ridge staff , Eden Care Home and Home Care Support Workers for the wonderful care given to our father this past year.
Should family and friends so desire, donations in his memory may be made to the Alzheimer’s Society. Rest in peace Dad, we’ll miss you.
