It’s the fifth year of trailing payments made to the Knight Road Legacy Association since Chilliwack Bingo was sold.

A cheque for $481,000 was received last week from Great Canadian Gaming Corporation, which owns Chilliwack Chances.

The money will be shared by 49 non-profits and charities in Chilliwack that make up the Knight Road Legacy Association (KRLA).

“Payments have been triggered every year we’ve been in operation,” said Chuck Keeling, VP of Great Canadian Gaming.

The agreement made in 2012 included the trailing payments concept, which meant that if the Chances Chilliwack facility performed well in terms of gross gaming revenues, the association would benefit as well.

So far KRLA has received $1.4 million in trailing payments since 2012. The most recent cheque of $481,000, the highest to date, was presented last Monday in Chilliwack.

The 49 members of KRLA were the original owners and operators of Chilliwack Bingo.

“We are honoured and proud of our contribution to the KRLA as the association is comprised of charities and non-profit organizations that make a difference in the Chilliwack community,” said Rhonda Dyck, Gaming Manager at Chances Chilliwack.
