Disgruntled employees form union info line outside of Kent and Mountain Institutions

Traffic caused some concern among residents outside two Agassiz prisons but no impact inside

Traffic was blocked at Agassiz’s two prisons for a couple of hours Tuesday morning due to a union information line.

Employees at Kent and Mountain institutions say they have been without a proper contract with the government for three years and they’re trying to get the message out that this needs to change, according to an employee from Mountain Institution.

A long line-up of cars built up outside of the prisons Tuesday due to the line disrupting things, but there was no effect on the prisoners inside.

RCMP contacted the institutions to clarify the issue as onlookers were concerned by the looming traffic outside of the prisons.
