Alcohol appears to have been a factor in a three-vehicle car crash on Promontory Road Sunday night.

Around 6:40 p.m. a silver Hyundai Santa Fe SUV came flying up the hill. As the female driver steered her vehicle around the bend by Uplands Road, she crossed over the center line and hit a blue Pontiac G5 head on.

A blue Dodge Dakota truck couldn’t stop in time, hitting the back of the car.

Emergency crews raced to the scene and took nearly an hour to get the driver out of the car, using the Jaws of Life to remove the driver’s side door. That person was taken to Chilliwack General Hospital.

The driver of the SUV was also taken to CGH, then to the local police detachment. She faces charges related to impaired driving.

The driver and passenger in the Dodge truck were treated at the scene.
