Police seek stabbing suspect

Chilliwack RCMP are looking for witnesses who may have seen a stabbing take place in the early hours of Tuesday morning.

RCMP got a call at 5:05 a.m., bringing them to the 9,200 block of Young Road.

RCMP say the victim was approached by a man who asked if he had a lighter. When the victim said he did not, the man demanded money and then stabbed him.

The suspect is described as Caucasian, between 25-35 years old, standing five-foot-10. He had a goatee and mustache and was wearing dark clothing.

This is a serious incident and police are looking for any information that can lead us to identifying a suspect,” said Cst. Tracy Wolbeck.

Anyone who may have info is asked to call the Chilliwack RCMP at 604-792-4611 or Crime Stoppers (anonymously) at 1-800-222-8477(TIPS).
