Home invasion on Chilliwack Lake Road
Two men reportedly wearing masks broke into a Chilliwack Lake Road home early Sunday and assaulted the lone male resident at gunpoint.
The 55-year-old victim sustained a minor head injury, according to police.
Police say the two suspects allegedly entered the home in the 48000-block of Chilliwack Lake Road through an unlocked back door at about 6:30 a.m., attacked the victim in his bedroom and then tied him up in his bed while they ransacked the house.
The two suspects reportedly fled the home with a small amount of cash. Police were called to the scene at about 8:15 a.m.
No description of either suspects could be provided by the victim as both were reportedly wearing masks.
“It doesn’t appear to be a targeted at all,” Const. Tara Harrington said yesterday.
An investigation by RCMP general duty officers, forensics and police dog services continues.
