RCMP on hunt for rock thrower
The Chilliwack RCMP are investigating six separate incidents of rock throwing.
The RCMP got three reports Monday night of rocks being hucked from a moving vehicle. In the 5,900 block of Garrison Boulevard, a pedestrian was hit in the face, requiring stitches to close a cut near his eye.
Soon after, a house in the 45,000 block of Watson Road was hit, with rocks breaking two window panes. Ten minutes later, a business in the 5,700 block of Vedder Road had a window broken, causing $1,200 in damage.
There were previous reports over the last several weeks, all on the south side of Chilliwack, that are believed to be related.
The RCMP are looking for a light-brown four door sedan, possibly a Volvo.
“We are taking these incidents very seriously,” said Cpl. Len vanNieuwenhuizen. “Throwing rocks, or any other items from vehicles, is potentially very dangerous and has caused harm to an innocent victim. This is a very serious issue.”
