82-year-old Hope woman killed in a head-on collision identified
The BC Coroner has identified the 82-year-old Hope woman killed in a head-on collision on Hwy 1 Saturday morning as Elsie Ethel Eileen McAdam.
McAdam was the driver and sole occupant of a car the collided with a Chilliwack family after leaving the Bradner Road rest stop in Abbotsford at about 10:30 a.m.
Paramedics attended the scene, but could not resuscitate McAdam.
The 29-year-old Chilliwack man and his 24-year-old wife sustained non life-threating injuries in the crash. Their three-month old baby was unharmed.
Police said the Hope woman was heading east in the westbound lane of Hwy 1 when the collision occurred.
The BC Coroners Service and Fraser Valley RCMP Traffic Services continue to investigate.
