A 77-year-old man suffering from dementia who went missing early Thursday morning from an assisted living home in Hope has been found.

No other details were immediately released.

Police say Jerry "Smokey" Colborn was last seen at about 9:30 a.m. Thursday.

"Mr. Colborn went missing (earlier) in June and was located by police 23 kilometres up Highway 3 in the Manning Park area," RCMP Cpl. Tammy Hollingsworth said.

"He is very vulnerable as he has dementia. He will most likely be walking and will not take rides from anyone," she said.

Colborn is described as about 5'7" tall and weighing about 155-160 lbs with a greyish/white beard. He is balding and wears glasses.
