A stolen piece of cross-stitch art that has "1990 C. McHardy" stitched into it has been recovered by police, who are now looking for the rightful owner.

The framed print is one of four paintings seized by the Chilliwack RCMP crime reduction unit.

"If we can't find the owner, this art may be destroyed, which would be a shame, especially the one that is handmade as it must have taken someone a lot of time to make," Cpl. Tammy Hollingsworth said.

"We are hoping by sharing the photos it will bring the rightful owners to the detachment to claim their stolen property," she said.

Anyone who has information about the artwork is asked to call the Chilliwack RCMP at 604-792-4611.
