Chilliwack RCMP are looking for a woman who may have witnessed the robbery of the Young Street Supermarket on Feb. 10.

A lone male entered the store located at 9590 Young Road at about 10 a.m. demanding cigarettes.

The clerk complied, and the masked bandit fled with an undisclosed number of cigarette packages.

"Police are looking for a woman who entered the store as the suspect was fleeing," RCMP Cpl. Tammy Hollingsworth said.

"We believe she is a witness and may have valuable information."

The suspect is described as a thinly-built white male, about 5'5" tall and weighing 160 lbs. He was wearing a blue-and-grey plaid pullover jacket with a hood, and a black, flat-brimmed baseball cap with a round sticker on the brim. He was wearing a bandana or handkerchief over his face.

Police are releasing a still photograph obtained from a security video in hope someone will recognize the clothing and help identify him.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Chilliwack RCMP at 604-792-4611 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS.
