Schools closed in Chilliwack

Continued cold and snowy weather Tuesday has closed all public schools in Chilliwack. Tonight's school board meeting has also been cancelled.

The University of the Fraser Valley has closed its campus for a second day.

According to Environment Canada, "snow is expected to continue over the Eastern Fraser Valley this morning. five to 10 cm of snow is forecast through the morning before snow eases by midday. Strong outflow winds will cause local areas of blowing snow with reduced visibilities through the day as well."

Highway conditions in and around Chiliwack remain treacherous, with blowing snow and drifting causing problems. RCMP have closed highway 9 between Harrison and Bridal Falls because of reduced visibility.
