Chilliwack man arrested after B&E report

A 36-year-old Chilliwack man was arrested after a short foot chase by police Tuesday night.

Police were called by a report of a break-and-enter in progress at a Yale Road business at about 10:30 p.m.

Police heard "banging along the side of the building," but a male suspect did not comply with their demands and jumped over a fence to avoid arrest.

He was caught after a short chase and taken into custody without incident.

"Reducing property crime is one of our top priorities," RCMP Const. Tracy Wolbeck said in a news release.
