Christmas gift for 'Dad' found on Hwy 1
A wrapped Christmas gift addressed to 'Dad' from Vaughn and Mom was discovered in a black bag found on the side of Hwy 1 Thursday.
Some passers-by picked up the bag in the Sumas Flats area, between Abbotsford and Chilliwack, at about 7:45 a.m., and brought it to the Chilliwack RCMP detachment.
RCMP Cpl. Barb Vincent said the bag contained some "used items" like a sweater, a pair of snowpants, and some toiletries possibly belonging to a youth.
And a wrapped Christmas gift intended for somebody's father.
"We thought we had to try and get it to them," Vincent said.
Now, Santa is reliable, but the RCMP delivers.
"If this is your bag, call the Chilliwack RCMP at 604-792-4611, and with a few specific questions answered, information known only by the owner, the intact bag will be returned to your family in time for Christmas," Vincent said.
