UPDATE: Chilliwack woman charged with aggravated assault

A Chilliwack woman who stabbed a man during a domestic dispute last Sunday is now officially charged with aggravated assault, not attempted murder.

Glenna Darlene Joe, 31, was arrested at an apartment in the 5800-block Vedder Road in connection with the stabbing of her live-in boyfriend.

The victim, a 47-year-old Chilliwack man, remains in hospital in serious condition.

Police said the man was stabbed in the abdomen at about 3:30 p.m. and was taken by ambulance to Chilliwack General Hospital where he underwent surgery before transfer the the Peace Arch hospital in White Rock.

Joe remains in custody until a July 28 bail hearing in Chilliwack provincial court.
