Police, family seek information on missing Chilliwack woman

Family and police are "extremely concerned" about the safety of a Chilliwack woman last seen on Saturday morning.

Police said the 46-year-old woman left a note for her boyfriend saying she was going to babysit a friend's child for the night, and she would be back on Sunday.

"The boyfriend doesn't know of such a friend, and she hasn't returned home," Cpl. Tammy Hollingsworth said.

Police are asking for public help finding Darlene Steeves, or for the missing woman to call the Chilliwack RCMP herself.

Steeves is described as a white woman, about 5'6" tall, weighing 130 lbs., with brown hair and brown eyes.

She was last seen at 9:55 Grey 2008 Dodge Rama.m. Saturday wearing a black jacket, a black and white shirt (possibly with small polka dots) and black pants.

She was driving a grey 2008 Dodge Ram pickup with BC licence plates DB 7828, which expired on April 9.

Steeves was known to frequent casinos and bingo halls in the Lower Mainland, police said.

Anyone with information on Steeves' whereabouts is asked to call the Chilliwack RCMP at 604-792-4611 or Crime Stoppers 1-888-222-TIPS.
