Chilliwack RCMP looking for assault victim

Chilliwack RCMP are looking for a female victim of an assault and robbery in the Third Avenue park Wednesday night.

The assault took place at about 6:15 p.m., and was witnessed by residents in the area.

Police later found the victim's purse, but there was no identification inside.

"The police are asking the victim of this senseless crime to come forward and speak to them, Const. Tracy Wolbeck said.

"This was very likely a traumatic incident for this person, and we are hoping that she comes forward to speak to us," Wolbeck said.

"We believe we have identified the people responsible, and really need to speak to the victim," she said.

Anyone with information is asked to called the Chilliwack RCMP at 604-792-4611 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS.
