Chilliwack Visitor Centre is among the best

Highly visible from the freeway, the Chilliwack Visitor Centre is among the best information centres in B.C.

Readers of RV West Magazine recently voted in the Annual Reader's Choice poll and the visitor centre on Luckakuck Way came away with a silver medal.

“To be voted in the top three from over 130 visitor centres in British Columbia gives us great satisfaction," said Brian Coombes, executive director of Tourism Chilliwack, which runs the visitor centre on Luckakuck Way.

Visibility and access from Highway 1, help make it a popular stop-off point, said Coombes. Add to that extensive space for visitor information, and info about tourist friendly facilities, convenient parking for RVs, and a good reputation for camping, all help attract vacationers and visitors to Chilliwack.

Coombes also praised the hard work of city parks staff who always strive to make picnic grounds and gardens both "picturesque and relaxing."

Golden took top honours for platinum, and Mt. Robson took the gold medal. Voted second favourite in the BC RV Park/Private Campground category was another local business, the Camperland RV Resort operated by Holiday Trails Resorts.
